At the end of your three on-the-water LTR sessions, you become a Level 1 (L1).
Then you do L2 Training. That’s four sessions in a double with a coach or L2 trainer. They will take you through a checklist of skills to take you to the L2 level. Once you are an L2, you will be able to navigate a boat on your own and move to a coastal single, or continue in a double or quad as part of the club or coached rows. If you need more than 4 rows, you can continue in the L2 training as needed.
The L2 Training is four sessions for $100.
After 4 sessions, you can become a full member for the rest of the session for $100. It’s called Convert to Full Membership.
We will explain how this works at the Introductory Session.
Full membership includes:
-convenient online sign-up for rows
-on-the-water coaching
-opportunity to attend regattas*
-social events at the Charlottetown Yacht Club – a chance to meet and mingle with other rowers*
*as allowed under Rowing Canada and Rowing PEI COVID-19 protocols
We will add more Learn to Row sessions as needed over the summer
* contact us if you are under the age of 16 and interested in rowing or visit our Junior Rowing page for more details.
| –any rower under the age of 18 will need a signed parental waiver – email us to get one |

Rowing is a great outdoor sport with fantastic scenery. And it is considered one of the best workouts around!
“When we said full-body we weren’t kidding. There’s just no comparison to cardio exercise that only involves the lower body, such as biking, the elliptical machine, or running on a treadmill. This is a calorie-killing, efficient workout.”

If you are goal-oriented, there is also the opportunity for all ages to compete. We will have coached sessions to prepare crews for the Nova Scotia Sprints in mid-July 2022. *subject to COVID restrictions
We will also host the Red Island Regatta at Brudenell, P.E.I. on August 27, 2022.
*subject to COVID restrictions

Our coastal boats are made especially for the wind and wave conditions on the Harbour.
We row out of the Charlottetown Yacht Club from May to October. We typically put our boats in the water on the Victoria Day weekend and can row until after Thanksgiving, weather permitting.
